MALIBU, Calif. – A pair of champions were crowned during day three of the Oracle ITA Masters as Virginia’s Natasha Subhash and Baylor’s Sven Lah teamed to capture the mixed doubles title Saturday at the Malibu Racquet Club.
Subhash and Lah defeated the duo of Carlos Aguilar (Texas A&M) and Katarina Jokic (Georgia), 8-2.
For thefirst time in its five-year history, the Oracle ITA Masters will feature All-Southern California men’s and women’s singles finals.
That was secured after Pepperdine senior Ashley Lahey defeated UCLA freshman Abbey Forbes, 6-4, 6-3, and UCLA senior Jada Hart recorded a straight-set 6-2, 6-1 victory over Virginia freshman Natasha Subhash in a pair of women’s singles semifinals Saturday at the Malibu Racquet Club.
In men’s semifinal action, junior Keegan Smith posted a 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 win over Illinois junior Alex Brown, while USC junior Daniel Cukierman registered a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Columbia junior Jack Lin.
The Oracle ITA Masters concludes Sunday with the men’s and women’s consolation singles and main draw singles championships. Play gets underway at 9 a.m. followed by the women’s singles main draw championship match slated for 11:30 a.m. The men’s singles main draw title match gets underway at 1:30 p.m.
Penn’s Iuliia Bryzgalova will face Sahaja Yamalapalli (Sam Houston State) in women’s consolation final, while San Diego’s Gui Osorio will meet Mercer’s Oliver Stuart in the men’s singles consolation.
Both the men’s and women’s singles main draw finals will be streamed live on ESPN3 and available on the Watch ESPN App. ESPNU will re-air the finals on Oct. 1 (women) and Oct. 2 (men) beginning at 1 p.m. (PT) both days.
