TEMPE, Ariz. (January 28) – The first UTR ITA Division I Women’s Player of the Week was awarded to the University of Virginia freshman Natasha Subhash. Subhash spurred the comeback win over the Tennessee Vols on Saturday. After the Vols went up 2-0, Subhash defeated #72 Kaitlin Staines (UTR 10.55) in straight sets (6-2 6-3). Virginia went on to win the championship match at the Kansas Regional 4-3.

In the opening match of the ITA Kickoff Weekend, Subhash and partner Sofia Munera helped the Cavaliers win the doubles point against #16 California. She battled through three sets with #45 Julia Rosenqvist (UTR 11.13) – ultimately winning 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.
