This week’s Cracked Racquets episode of “Getting to the Point”, powered by ArrowBar, features Lauren Embree. Lauren was an extremely entertaining guest who we will definitely have back on the show. She brought a wealth of information gathered over decades of tennis experience. Lauren was born into a tennis family and never looked back. She competed in the main draw of the French Open before college, clinched back-to-back national championships for the University of Florida women’s team, reached the top 250 in the WTA rankings, and has served as an assistant coach at powerhouse programs Pepperdine and Florida.
Lauren provided great insight into proper fitness and nutrition and even highlighted a few of the issues of “overtraining”. As a player who often out-worked her opponents, Lauren was always looking for an edge. Proper fitness and nutrition are two of the areas players can gain this advantage. Lauren discussed players “listening to their body” when it comes to training and properly fueling their bodies for sustained performance. Conveniently, Lauren is a big fan of ArrowBars and had just grabbed on from the fueling station at UF that day.
