UTR – Account Manager



This position can be remote or blended, and is based out of our corporate headquarters in Palo Alto, CA.

The Role:

Account Manager is an outbound facing role responsible for activating and onboarding new UTR customers such that customers become more active and engaged members of the UTR community, e.g. creating/running more events, scheduling different types of events, getting players/members rated. The Account Manager is also focused on building longer term relationships and up selling / closing new deals.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to be able to close new business, manage accounts, be a strong strategic thinker, be quick on your feet, as well as friendly, tech-savvy, and an amazing communicator. This role will be part of the Commercial Team and report to the Director of Account Management.


Account Manager Responsibilities:

  • You will position and sell UTR’s software tools and technology to Academies, Clubs & Tennis Organizers so they can create more play and increase participation for their members
  • You’ll develop real connections through phone, video, and email
  • You’ll conduct live product demonstrations over video call
  • You will initially own the sales and account management funnel, including customer segmentation, onboard, retention, and upsell

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate college degree with 2+ years of experience in a sales and or account management/customer success environment with SaaS, free, freemium and paid products
  • You can learn and apply new concepts quickly
  • A data focused, ambitious attitude – the numbers tell a story
  • Experience managing accounts within an online Client Relationship Management (CRM – Salesforce) system
  • Passion to educate and sell while focused on solutions – you’re not easily intimidated
  • Ability to document and give feedback from clients to certain UTR team members
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to own and complete tasks from ideation to execution to measurement
  • Understanding of and interest in sports (and/or tennis in particular) a plus
