College Contenders: Texas A&M University

Welcome to the fifth edition of the Cracked Racquets 2020-21 College Contenders, focusing on Texas A&M Aggies.

Texas A&M Men’s Tennis Head Coach Steve Denton joins Hosts Alex Gruskin and Chris Halioris to preview his team’s 2021 season. He discusses the importance of returning his entire roster from the 2020 season, how his team can take another step forward in 2021, and what it means to see so many former Aggies currently succeeding in the pros. He also shares a few insights from his own pro career, and so much more.

After dropping two of their three matches last year at the 2020 ITA National Team Indoor Championships, the men from College Station were riding a 7-match win streak when the pandemic shut things down. A&M was off to a hot 4-0 start in the SEC, including a big 4-3 victory over Florida at home. The Aggies had the inside track to winning the conference last year, and are well-positioned to be in the same boat this spring.

Here is CR’s examination of A&M’s roster.
