Youngstown State University – Men’s Graduate Assistant Tennis Coach


Job Description

The Youngstown State University Men’s Tennis program is seeking a graduate assistant coach. The successful candidate is required to meet the admission standards for the Youngstown State University graduate program of their choice, and also be prepared to work beginning no later than August 16, 2021. This graduate assistant would be aiding the YSU Men’s Tennis head coach in all areas of the program. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting head coach to conducting practices (team & individual), assisting with recruiting student-athletes, fundraising, team travel, administrative responsibilities, racquet stringing, managing equipment, and on-court coaching.


Those interested must possess a bachelor’s degree and have strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and have experience playing or coaching in tennis at the intercollegiate level. Candidates will have to be willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required. A valid driver’s license as well as a successful background check are also required. Candidates are required to adhere to the regulations and guidelines as established by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Horizon League, Youngstown State University, and Youngstown State University Athletics Department.


Candidate will receive a scholarship to be used towards the completion of a master’s degree. This is a one-year assignment offering the opportunity for renewal upon successful performance.
