University of Oklahoma – Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach

The University of Oklahoma Men’s Tennis program is looking to fill the position of Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach.  As one of the top program’s in the NCAA Division I, OU is looking for a candidate to assist Head Coach in all aspects of running a top Division I Men’s Tennis program. Ideal candidate is someone who has experience at the highest levels of coaching specializing in on-court development, conditioning/fitness and recruiting.  Professional level or high Division I collegiate level playing experience preferred.  Bachelor’s degree required and 3-5 years minimum of coaching experience preferred. Position requires the highest-level understanding and adherence of the NCAA rules and regulations.  Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills are necessary. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. High level Division I playing-ability and or professional level
  2. 3-5 years of experience coaching high level Division I players and or professional players on the circuit
  3. Experienced and has shown positive results recruiting domestic and international players
  4. Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment, one-on-one and in small groups
  5. Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet

Primary Duties and Expectations include but are not limited to: 

  1. Provide on-court coaching in a team, individual and small group setting 
  2. Assist in fitness and conditioning on court
  3. Breaking down video, statistical analysis and scouting reports
  4. Assist in building and growing the culture by establishing strong relationships with players with effective communication
  5. Attend all coaches’ meetings
  6. Assist in daily planning of practice
  7. Travel to all home and away matches
  8. Recruiting travel evaluating and making contact with players domestic and international
  9. Daily recruiting activities including research, analysis, and recruiting calls
  10. Community development and marketing of program
  11. Assist in equipment management, travel arrangements, expense reports
  12. Assist in scheduling
