Evan Isaacs - Wilson ITA Coach of the Year Award (Men)

Coach Isaacs has led the cougars to a current 18-0 regular-season record and a No. 1 ranking in the region and the national poll. The Cougars have won their second straight ITA national indoor tournament without dropping a match. Along with competing well on the courts, sportsmanship is a priority for his team. He wants his players to treat opponents and officials with the respect they deserve.


ITA Assistant Coach of the Year
Fred Bonal | Barry University

Fred Bonal - ITA Assistant Coach of the Year (Men)

The Barry Bucs continued to dominated Division II Men’s tennis with help from Assistant Coach Fred Bonal. The Bucs capped their undefeated season with a fifth NCAA title. Bonal is instrumental in the Bucs’ player development, recruiting, and on-court coaching duties. In addition to the NCAA title, the Bucs also won the Sunshine State Conference title this season.


ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award
David Szeri | Southwest Baptist University

David Szeri - ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award (Men)

David has been the team captain for the last two years and works very hard to positively impact the people around him. He helps incoming students with move-in, showing around campus, setting them up for school starts, tutoring, and more. He really cares about his teammates and our program while he competes with the highest class and sportsmanship. David is a friend with all of his opponents he played the last years and he is a person anybody would love to have on their teams. He exemplifies full motivation at practice and an excellent work ethic.


ITA Rookie of the Year Award
Tom Zeuch | University of Indianapolis

Tom Zeuch - ITA Rookie of the Year (Men)

Tom Zeuch made an impact this season at the top of the lineup for the Greyhounds. Zeuch split his time between the No. 1 and 2 positions in singles and doubles. During the 2021 ITA National Team Indoor Championships, Zeuch was a reliable option at the No. 2 spot in singles. He went undefeated in the Greyhounds run to national runner-up. Zeuch was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week twice this season.


ITA Most Improved Senior Award
Aurel Ciocanu | Saint Leo University

Aurel Ciocanu - ITA Most Improved Senior Award (Men)

Aurel has been one of the hardest-working players. His freshman year was delayed due to him being required to have hip surgery. In his sophomore year, he came back from the injury to play top three in our line-up. Now this year as a Senior he has mostly played No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles. This year he is 7-2 in singles with his only 2 losses coming to the current No. 1 player in the country from Barry (Giuliato) and the former No. 1 player in the country from last year (Ibanez), also from Barry. In doubles, he is ranked No. 15 in the country and in singles No. 21 in the country.


ITA Senior Player of the Year Award
Alvaro Regalado | Columbus State University

Alvaro Regalado - ITA Senior Player of the Year (Men)

Alvaro Regalado put together a tremendous senior campaign. He finished the season ranked No. 2 in the nation in singles and No. 1 in the nation in doubles. He earned ITA Singles & Doubles All-American honors as a senior bringing his total to 10 All-American selections. In the fall, Regalado won the ITA Southeast Regional in singles and doubles. He went on to compete at the ITA National Fall Championships where he downed Ohio State standout Trotter in straight sets. Alvaro reached the quarterfinals of the National Fall Championships before falling. During his time as a Cougar, Alvaro has led his team to two ITA National Team Indoors titles and one NCAA title.
