Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) – Digital Media Manager


The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), the official governing body of college tennis, is seeking a talented and versatile individual to serve in the role of Digital Media Manager. This is an exciting and critically important time for college tennis and the ITA in the fast-paced and ever-changing worlds of higher education and intercollegiate athletics.


  • Implement and oversee digital/social media strategy, with the goals of increasing following
    and engagement, driving revenue generation, and raising the overall profile of the ITA and college tennis
  • Tell the stories of the ITA, its members and student-athletes and coaches through various content distribution channels
  • Serve as the ITA’s voice on social media – Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Work with Director of Communications, Marketing & Advanced Media, and Communications Manager to develop social media strategy and implement that strategy across all social media platforms
  • Develop a comprehensive content calendar and coordinate weekly content meetings involving ITA communications staff
  • Work closely with ITA member coaches and teams to generate content
  • Monitor analytics and produce reports that measure the effectiveness of social media strategy
  • Use creative, independent judgement to update and post social media content to promote the ITA and college tennis
  • This position must work to help develop and execute marketing and promotional creative strategies for ITA championships and events 


  • Generate graphics for social and traditional media (website, press releases, awards)
  • Design onsite signage and marketing materials for the ITA national championships and events, and be responsible for ordering and shipping signage to the event sites
  • Work closely with ITA partners and member programs to integrate marketing and promotional materials
  • Maintain current ITA brand guidelines
  • Develop graphics package that stay true and consistent with existing branding parameters
  • Serve as the ITA’s liaison in the ongoing operation of print materials (letterhead, business cards, event signage, etc.)


  • Operate ITA-owned camera equipment at ITA events and championships to deliver content across all association media platforms (website, social media, video)
  • Serve as point person for photo requests
  • Create and manage ITA photo archives


  • Contribute to the content management of the official ITA WordPress website
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

 Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Sports Information, Communication, Journalism, Marketing/PR or a related field and two years athletics communications experience to be considered for Manager title
  • Ability to initiate and complete projects independently and with specific deadlines 
  • Experience managing social media campaigns
  • Experience managing various social media channels within a collegiate athletics department or professional organization 
  • Photography experience required
  • Experience with WordPress websites
  • Experience with design of both still and motion graphics
  • Experience with creation of video content
  • Willingness to experiment and bring creativity and innovation to the position
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills 
  • Strong computer background with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, including design-related software, and website content management systems
  • Demonstrated experience working with and directing outside vendors including agencies and photographers
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects independently and within specific and sometimes tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Google applications
  • Tennis background or experience, and knowledge/interest highly desirable

  • Position will require travel throughout the year for championships and events
