On the third day of competition at the 2022 ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championship, North Carolina and Oklahoma each punched their ticket to the Finals, taking down NC State and Pepperdine in the Semifinals.

Looking to take home their third-straight ITA Indoor Title, North Carolina got out of the gates early in today’s semifinal match, winning the doubles point after picking up wins in No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.

Rolling the momentum into singles play, the Tar Heels won in straight sets on singles No. 3 and No. 5 before clinching the match on court No. 6 with a 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 win to seal the 4-1 victory over NC State.

In the second semifinal match of the afternoon, Oklahoma continued their Cinderella run in their first-ever ITA Indoor Championship beating Pepperdine 4-2 this afternoon.

Winning a hard-fought doubles point, the Sooners won 6-4 at No. 1 and 7-5 at No. 3 to take the one-point lead after doubles.

In singles, the Sooners picked up wins from No. 3 and No. 5 before Emma Staker clinched the match from the No. 6 position winning 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (5) to advance Oklahoma for the second straight night.

With the Finals now set, the Championship match is set to kick-off at noon (CST) from the Nielsen Tennis Stadium with live video, live stats, and Cracked Racquets “Red Zone” coverage available once again.
