For the second consecutive season, and for the fourth time in the past five seasons, Tyler Junior College Women’s Tennis team has been crowned the NJCAA Division I National Champions. Winning the Championship by just one point, the Apaches earned the program’s 21st overall NJCAA National Championship as well as Tyler Junior Colleges 68th National Championship as a whole.

Taking down runners-up Hillsborough (FL) by just one point, Tyler relied on big finishes within the top two singles draws to clinch the National Title.

For Hillsborough, this marks the second consecutive year in which they finished runners-up just narrowly missing out on the title this season. Across both the singles and doubles draws, Hillsborough was able to come out on top in the Singles No. 3, No. 5 draws as well as the Doubles No. 2 and No. 3 draws to earn the most draw victories at the Championship.

Just behind Hillsborough in the standings was Seward County which had its best finish in program history in 2022. With the third-place finish, Seward County clinched their third top-five finish of all time after winning the No. 6 Singles flight and finishing runners-up in the No. 3 Doubles flight.

In addition to the team title, Tyler Junior College Head Coach Dash Connell was named the Coach of the Tournament after leading his players to top-2 finishes in every draw other than No. 3 Doubles.
