Fairleigh Dickinson University, Metropolitan – Men’s and Women’s Tennis Graduate Assistant Tennis Coach


Fairleigh Dickinson University-Metropolitan is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Graduate Assistant Tennis Coach. The position will work directly with the Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams and will assist the head coach in all facets of the Tennis program.

  • Assist with team travel
  • Handle social media responsibilities
  • Assist coaches with practice, competition preparation and execution
  • Assist in organizing team meals
  • Help with scheduling community service
  • Recruiting off-campus, calling recruits, email/text recruits and setting up on-campus visits
  • Must be willing to recruit during off-hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Willingness to work camps both on and off-campus all year round.
  • Be a part of daily office hours with the rest of the staff and student-athletes.
  • Set up individual tutoring and learning sessions with the help of our Academic Advisor.  
  • May participate in various fundraising, marketing, promotional and alumni relations activities
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Competed at the intercollegiate level
  • Racquet stringing experience
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations


  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Acceptance into a graduate program at FDU
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must be willing to travel and be available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as required.
  • Must have a First Aid and CPR certification or obtain them during the 90-day Introductory Period. National Red Cross Certification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the university’s Motor Vehicle policy. A MVC check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the university. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the MVC check.
  • Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
