Players Ready for Semifinal Play at the 2022 Women’s ITA All-American Championships

CARY, NC. – We’re one day closer to crowning Singles and Doubles Champions at the 2022 ITA Women’s All-American Championships, as Semifinalists are now set after the third day of Main Draw play from the Cary Tennis Park.

North Carolina has had a record setting run during the 2022 ITA Women’s All-American Championships, becoming the first school in recorded history to place three players into the Semifinals of the Singles Main Draw. Winning in three of four matches on the day, the Tar Heel trio of Fiona Crawley, Carson Tanguilig, and Anika Yarlagadda will look to become the second Women’s All-American Champion from North Carolina, as Jamie Loeb took home the title back in 2013.

In the other Singles Quarterfinal matchup, LSU’s Kylie Collins took down Alexa Noel from Miami to earn her spot into tomorrow’s Semifinals. As a back-to-back NCAA Team National Champion with Texas, Collins will look to claim her first individual title this weekend as she is set to take on Yarlagadda tomorrow at 10am (EST).

Across doubles Quarterfinal play, representatives from NC State, Virginia, Michigan, and Arizona State all earned their spots into the Semifinals. Kari Miller and Jaedan Brown of Michigan were the only team to win in straight sets on the afternoon as they remain the only qualifying team still playing in the Doubles Main Draw.

The Virginia duo of Natasha Subhash and Elaine Chervinsky advanced to the Semifinals with a win today but have withdrawn from the remainder of the tournament moving the Michigan duo of Miller and Brown directly to the championship match.

Across both Singles and Doubles, five of the remaining eight Semifinalists come from the ACC, while the SEC, Pac-12, and Big-10 all place one player/team into the Semifinals.

Play is set to begin at 10 am (EST) tomorrow from the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina. The day will get started with singles play before switching over to doubles play once singles play concludes.
