The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (“ITA”) has released today the NCAA Division I Women’s Top 25 Coaches Poll sponsored by Tennis-Point for February 1, 2023.

At the top this week, Texas (No. 1) and North Carolina (No. 2) continue to hold steady in the top two spots in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings. Rounding out the top five in the Feb. 1 Coaches Poll are Texas A&M (No. 3), Duke (No. 4), and Georgia (No. 5) who all move up one spot this week after NC State (No. 10) dropped out of the Top Five.

Vanderbilt is the team who took the biggest jump in the Feb. 1 ITA Coaches Poll, after taking down No. 3 NC State during ITA Kickoff Weekend play to earn their spot into the ITA DI Women’s National Team Indoor Championships. Now 3-0 on the season, the Dores will look to continue to make a splash when they make their first Indoor Championship appearance since 2019 in just over a week.

Iowa State is another team that saw their stock rise this past week as the Cyclones handled business at the Miami Kickoff Weekend Regional to advance to their first-ever ITA Indoor Championships. Jumping up ten spots since the Jan. 25 Coaches Poll, Iowa State earned two of their highest-ranked wins in program history this past week and continue to wake waves under head coach Boomer Saia who is now in his fifth season.

Finally, San Diego and first-year head coach Nadia Abdala continue to impress after jumping from outside the Top 25 to No. 17 this week. Earning their first-ever ITA Indoor Championship berth in the Kickoff Weekend era, the Toreros had impressive wins over No. 25 Georgia Tech and No. 11 Cal this past weekend.

The ITA Top 25 Coaches Poll is voted on by the ITA National Ranking Committee. The National Ranking Committee is made up of the 12 ITA Region Chairs, with each chair casting an individual, secret ballot.
