2023 ITA NATIONAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

With all eyes now turned to Seattle, Washington for the first National Championship of the Division I tennis season, sixteen teams are gearing up to try to claim their spot in history at the 2023 ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championship.

Taking place at the Nordstrom Tennis Center as well as the Seattle Tennis Club, play will run from Friday, February 10th thru Monday, February 13th when a National Champion is crowned.

What Is It

The ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championship brings together 16 of the most talented teams from across for a weekend of play that will crown a National Champion at its conclusion. Now in its 36th year, the ITA Division I Women’s Indoor Championship has been one of the most prestigious national collegiate tournaments since it began and is a staple of the collegiate tennis spring season.  

Besides, the host, teams qualify for the ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championships through the ITA Kickoff Weekend which puts the top 60 teams in competition across 15 regional host sites around the country.


When Is It

The 2023 ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championship will take place from Feb. 10 thru Feb. 13 with the Championship Match being played on Monday, February 13th.


Where Is It

Hosted by the University of Washington, play from the 2023 ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championships will be held at the Nordstrom Tennis Center as well as the Seattle Tennis Club in Seattle, Washington.

Main draw play will be split between each site on Friday and Saturday, while the Semifinals and Finals will be played at the Nordstrom Tennis Center with the back draw concluding at the Seattle Tennis Club.

Cracked Racquets will once again be providing coverage of this event with seasoned broadcasters, Alex Gruskin and Peri Sheinin set to provide commentary all weekend long.

The Cracked Racquets stream on YouTube will incorporate all matches taking place at both the Nordstrom Tennis Center as well as the Seattle Tennis Club.

Broadcasts will begin with the first match on Friday and will continue through the championship match on Monday.


Event Format

The format for the 2023 ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championships will follow the traditional collegiate format, with teams playing a seven-point format, with doubles accounting for one of the possible seven points, and singles accounting for the remaining six points. 

As a single-elimination tournament, teams will play one match each day with the Championship Match being played on Monday, February 13, at 12 p.m. (PT). However, all teams are guaranteed to play at least three matches over the weekend through either the main or consolation draw.


Who Is Playing

The field at the 2023 ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championship includes: Auburn, Duke, Georgia, Iowa State, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Pepperdine, San Diego, Stanford, Texas, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Washington

The seeded teams are; Texas (1), North Carolina (2), Texas A&M (3), Duke (4), Stanford (5), Ohio State (6), Virginia (7), and Vanderbilt (8)


What Is the Schedule

The schedule for the 2023 ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championships will see matches go on court at 9 am (PT), 12 pm (PT), 3:30 pm (PT), and 6:30 pm (PT) each day. The Championship match will be played at 12 pm (PT) on Monday.

How Can I Attend

The University of Washington is selling all session day tickets for $25 and single session tickets for $10 at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. There will be no admission charged at the Seattle Tennis Club. Spectator parking is also available in Lots E18 for $7.25 a day.
