Most Outstanding Player: Eliot Spizzirri (Texas)

As a junior for the Longhorns, Eliot Spizzirri showed time and time again this past weekend why he was the No. 1 ranked singles player in the nation. Playing from the No. 1 singles position, Spizzirri finished 2-0 on the weekend, with both of his other two unfinished matches trending in his direction down the stretch. Spizzirri’s biggest win of the weekend came against Michigan’s Andrew Fenty when he clinched the match for the Longhorn to earn their spot into the Finals.

This is the 14th annual ITA Division I National Men’s Team Indoor All-Tournament Team. Past winners of the Most Outstanding Player award are Virginia’s Somdev Devvarman (2008); Virginia’s Sanam Singh (2009); Virginia’s Michael Shabaz (2010); Virginia’s Alex Domijan (2011); USC’s Steve Johnson (2012); Virginia’s Alex Domijan (2013); Ohio State’s Peter Kobelt (2014); Oklahoma’s Alex Ghilea (2015), North Carolina’s Ronnie Schneider (2016), Ohio State’s Mikael Torpegaard (2017), Wake Forest’s Petros Chrysochos (2018), Ohio State’s JJ Wolf (2019), USC’s Daniel Cukierman (2020), and North Carolina’s Brian Cernoch (2021), Sander Jong (2022).


Team Sportsmanship Award: TCU

TCU has been awarded the 2023 Division I Men’s Team Sportsmanship Award after their great display of sportsmanship at the 2023 ITA Division I National Men’s Team Indoor Championship.

2023 marks the beginning of the Team Sportsmanship award for Division I National Team Indoors, joining Divison II & III for this annual award. The ITA is committed to highlighting exemplary sportsmanship for all of College Tennis.
