Barry, who has won the past five NCAA National Championships, comes into the 2023 Tournament as the No. 1 seed after going 24-0 to this point in the season, including 16 of their 24 wins coming against Top-25 ranked opponents.
Rounding out the top eight seeds in this year’s championship are Nova Southeastern (2), Hawaii Pacific (3), Flagler (4), Azusa Pacific (5), Wayne St. (6), Columbus St. (7), and Charleston (WV) (8) who all will look to slow Barry down on their quest for six-straight National Championships.
There have only been two teams who have reached the pinnacle of Division II Women’s College Tennis since 2008 in Armstrong Atlantic and Barry. Looking back even further, only four programs have won National Championships since 1995 in Armstrong Atlantic (10*), Barry (7), BYU-Hawaii (7), and Lynn (3).
The round of sixteen will begin Friday, May 12th from the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Florida. All matches will be live streamed on NCAA.com with the Championship being produced by Tupelo Honey on Tuesday, May 16th.
*Armstrong Atlantic had the 2015 and 2016 NCAA Championships vacated due to NCAA Committee Infractions.
