UTR/ITA National Player & Team Awards

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association and Universal Tennis Rating Powered by Oracle partner to recognize top national players and teams.

The UTR/ITA Player of the Month/Week awards program honor male and female individuals from all five divisions (NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and Junior College) beginning with monthly awards in the fall (September, October, November) and moving to a weekly award during the spring dual match season. During the spring dual match season,  UTR and the ITA also honor men’s and women’s teams from all five divisions with the UTR ITA Team of the Month award.

Player of the Week Criteria
The ITA UTR Player of the Week honors a collegiate tennis player whose increase in UTR rating throughout the previous week was indicative of his/her high level of performance, including notable wins such as clinching matches and upsets. 

Team of the Month Criteria
The ITA UTR Team of the Month honors a collegiate tennis team who showed the largest increase in its UTR Power 6 rating over the course of the previous month.

The UTR ITA National Player awards were first given out in October 2019. Due to the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, the UTR ITA Player of the Month awards were not given out during the 2020 fall season. At the start of the 2021 dual match season, the UTR ITA Team of the Month award was added to the program.

UTR is the global gold standard for all tennis players, which reflects their current skill level based on actual performance and is used by college coaches for evaluating player ability, seeding, selection, and more.
