Our mission is to serve college tennis, advance our sport, and return the leaders of tomorrow.
And our plan needs YOU.
The ITA, as the governing body of college tennis, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a 14-person staff that relies on generous supporters to carry out the important programs below. This is especially true in 2020-21. Due to COVID-19 developments, the ITA is facing revenue shortfalls that add up to a substantial budget deficit. Donations to the ITA Annual Fund will allow the areas of impact listed below to continue at their current capacity. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law, and you will be eligible to receive the donor benefits associated with your giving level. The ITA Tax ID number is 74-2021178. For a complete summary of ITA programs and our annual budget, view our ITA Annual Fund Brochure. With questions, please contact Corey Pegram at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The ITA's new national service program Tennis For America invests in college tennis graduates in order to fight inequality through tennis. In partnership with local tennis non-profits around the country, the ITA accepts applications from qualified tennis graduates to pursue a year of service. These Fellows are matched with tennis facilities in underserved communities, where they create college preparatory programs for that facility's junior players, assist with tennis and educational programming, and connect programming to that area's college tennis programs.
In its first year in 2020, Tennis For America currently has 8 Fellows in 5 locations creating positive change for youth through tennis and education. Each Fellow receives an Americorps VISTA stipend from the US Government to use on food, travel and other living expenses. Donations to Tennis For America support housing for the Fellows, continuing education and professional networking opportunities, and a 2021 graduation ceremony to celebrate the Fellows' year of servant leadership.
