Border Youth Tennis Exchange

About Border Youth Tennis Exchange

Border Youth Tennis Exchange (BYTE) is a binational youth development organization that uses a combination of sports and academic instruction to support vulnerable youth on both sides of the US-México border in Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Together, these border sister cities are known as Ambos Nogales. BYTE’s stated mission is to empower youth through tennis, educational programming and cross-border exchange to build leadership, strong communities and a positive appreciation of the US-México border region. BYTE is one of 250 youth-serving, community tennis nonprofits across the US that offer free and subsidized sports and education programming and make up the US Tennis Association Foundation’s (USTAF) National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) Network. BYTE is one of only a few NJTL organizations to operate in the border region and the only NJTL to operate internationally.
