Justin Cerny Named ITA Championships Coordinator And Member Program Administrator

TEMPE, Ariz. – Justin Cerny has been appointed the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s new Championships Coordinator and Member Program Administrator. He began his duties with the ITA on July 9.

A 2018 graduate of Christopher Newport University, Cerny served as team captain of the men’s tennis team and helped guide Christopher Newport to the 2017 Capital Athletic Conference championship. He achieved Oracle ITA Collegiate Tennis National Rankings of No. 12 in doubles and No. 49 in singles.

“We are thrilled to welcome Justin to our ITA staff!” said ITA Senior Director of Championships, Rankings & Membership, Cory Brooks. “His work ethic and love of our sport will be a huge asset to our team, and his background as a former Division III player will reinforce our efforts to create a staff as diverse and wide-ranging as our current ITA coaching family.”

In his role as Championships Coordinator & Member Program Administrator, Cerny will oversee and administer the ITA Small College Regional Championships and ITA Cup. He’ll assist the ITA Senior Director of Championships, Rankings and Member Programs with select day-to-day operations within the Championships and Member Programs Department, including communication with tournament directors, referees, hosts, sponsors and ITA member coaches.
