Limoneira and ITA Extend Their Partnership

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association and Limoneira, a leading agribusiness with prime agricultural and operations, real estate and water rights in California, announced an extension of their alliance, whereby Limoneira will continue to serve as the national sponsor of the ITA Community Service Month.

“We are excited to be continuing our relationship with Limoneira,” said ITA CEO, Timothy Russell. “I would like to thank ITA Board member Harold Edwards for his commitment to serving and advancing college tennis. With Limoneira’s support, ITA Community Service Month was a tremendous success and we look forward to the national campaign growing in the years to come, as our student-athletes continue to model behaviors and serve as leaders on their respective campuses.”

Debuting in October 2017, the ITA Community Service Month Presented by Limoneira saw over 2,000 student-athletes from all five divisions of college tennis (NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and JUCO) perform more than 8,000 hours of service in their respective communities.

As part of ITA Community Service Month Presented by Limoneira, programs are encouraged to log their hours served with the ITA to be entered into the Limoneira Hours Challenge, which will be promoted on a weekly basis during October. The program with the most hours served at the end of ITA Community Service Month Presented by Limoneira will receive an ITA grant.

“This is our second year as a sponsor of ITA’s Community Service Month, and we couldn’t be happier with last year’s results,” said Limoneira CEO, Harold Edwards, who also serves on the ITA Board of Directors. “Our company strives to promote health. Tennis with its aerobic movements burns fat, increases one’s heart rate and promotes higher energy levels. Lemon juice in water is one of the healthiest items that an athlete, or anyone for that matter, can consume. It provides an excellent source of Vitamin C, can naturally balance our bodies Ph levels, and help us stay hydrated. We appreciate ITA’s assistance in communicating these important health messages.

“Furthermore, service to the community is an important Limoneira principle. Supporting the ITA’s efforts in this regard is a no-brainer.”

In addition to its role with ITA Community Service Month, Limoneira will have an increased on-site presence at several ITA regional and national tournaments, serving up Limoneira lemon water and extolling its health benefits as it relates to physical exercise.
