Summer is almost here! As you make your plans for the next couple of months, we would like to inform you of some great opportunities to strengthen your Universal Tennis Rating and get some competitive match play this summer!

The 2019 Oracle ITA Summer Circuit Powered by UTR will feature 59 tournaments, all held on ITA-member campuses or at ITA-member facilities. The circuit will run for six weekends, beginning the weekend of June 22nd and continuing through the last weekend in July, culminating with the ITA National Summer Championships, August 9-13th.

A select number of events will now feature prize money. Stay tuned for more details…

Although the primary focus of the circuit is to provide incoming freshmen and collegiate players the chance to compete in the summer months, for NCAA compliance purposes, the events within the ITA Summer Circuit are categorized as “open”; therefore, anyone is eligible to compete in these events as long as he/she is a current 2019 ITA member. ITA Summer Playing Memberships will be available for purchase on May 1st.

The ITA will continue to increase the number of competitive matches throughout all our tournaments. After the entry deadline, all tournaments will divide their competitor fields into flights no larger than 32 players and grouped by a player’s UTR. This will help increase the number of competitive matches, and also allow tournaments to complete competition within 3 days (Saturday – Monday for most events).

The 2019 ITA Summer Circuit will also feature the ITA Summer Circuit Points Race. Players will have the opportunity to earn points based on their finish each week and these points will be tracked in our weekly point standings. Upon the completion of the circuit, the top 5 men and top 5 women in our final points standings will receive automatic entry into the ITA National Summer Championships as well as up to $600 in travel reimbursement for expenses incurred in traveling to Nationals.

Registration for the 2019 Oracle ITA Summer Circuit Powered by UTR opens on Monday, May 20th.

Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis. There will be no selection process for entry into a tournament. All tournaments will place a cap on the number of players they allow into the event. So, the sooner you are able to register, the better. Once a tournament’s cap has been met, you will be placed on a waiting list.

The ITA National Summer Championships men’s and women’s singles and doubles champions receive a wild card into the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships. And the men’s and women’s singles and doubles finalists will receive a wild card into the ITA All-American qualifying draw. Players receiving wild cards must be returning NCAA Division I student-athletes.

Take advantage of these great events while you enjoy another relaxing summer. Check out the event details today. Summer Circuit Schedule →
