Claire Pollard, Northwestern Women’s Head Coach, and Matt Hill, Arizona State University Men’s Head Coach, share their expertise on how they generate interest in their programs above and beyond the performances on the court. Both coaches have successfully improved attendance at their home matches and increased donations to their programs through the years, taking different approaches to achieving the same goals. Both Claire and Matt began their head coaching careers at Division I mid-major programs and both stress that they would be implementing these strategies wherever they happened to be coaching. About Claire Pollard

Claire Pollard has been at the helm of the Northwestern Women’s program for 22 years. She holds a record of 452-140 and has led the Wildcats to the NCAA Tournament every season. Pollard has led the Wildcats to 12 Big Ten Championships during her time with the university.

About Matt Hill

Matt Hill was hired to be the head coach of Arizona State in July 2016. He led the Sun Devils to the NCAA Tournament in his first year with the program. Before coming to ASU, Hill coached at the University of South Florida for four years where he led them to three consecutive AAC team championships and three straight berths to the NCAA Tournament. Hill also had coaching stops at the University of Alabama and Mississippi State University.
