The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced the launch of its first-ever Annual Fund in support of ITA operations and college tennis.

For the past 50 years the ITA, as the governing body of college tennis, has functioned in an incredibly fiscally responsible way. The ITA supports over 3,000 coaches, 1,700 teams, 19,000 student-athletes, and 1,500 officials with an annual operating budget in recent years of roughly $2.4 million. Through tournaments, awards programs, advocacy efforts, and educational resources, among other programs, the ITA is the central hub for all things college tennis and plays a vital role in the long-term success of our sport.

Due to developments related to COVID-19, we are facing revenue shortfalls that add up to a substantial budget deficit. To this end, we have launched two funds that are now accepting donations. The ITA is a 501(c)(3) to which all donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

  1. The ITA Annual Fund will support all ITA year-round programs, including our national and regional championships, awards programs, coach education resources, college tennis advocacy, and all other areas of impact outlined in this packet.
  2. The Tennis For America Fund will support the ITA’s new national service program inspired by the Peace Corps that matches qualified tennis graduates with non-profit tennis centers around the country in order to address inequality through tennis. Read more on this exciting new program here

The continued growth and development of college tennis depend on all of us, and we hope to lead this charge with the tennis community’s help.
