College Contenders: University of Southern California

Welcome to the seventh edition of the Cracked Racquets 2020-21 College Contenders, focusing on USC Trojans.

USC Men’s Tennis Head Coach Bret Masi discusses the team’s depth, biggest lineup questions, players expected to take a leap forward in 2021, and the importance of the team’s 2020 National Indoor run. Coach Masi also tosses a few questions of his own at Gruskin, Chris offers his own USC lineup projections, and so much more.

The USC Trojans ended last year’s shortened season as the #1 ranked team in the land, and will be attempting to pick up where they left off in 2021. Head Coach Brett Masi’s squad was in the midst of an outstanding campaign, capturing the 2020 ITA National Team Indoor Championships last February.

There’s no question that the Trojans feel they have some unfinished business to take care of over the next several months, but they’ll be forced to do so without their captain and top player over the past few years.

Here is CR’s examination of USC’s roster.
