Malik Tabet - Wilson ITA Coach of the Year Award (Women)

Malik Tabet is a big promoter of tennis. This is shown in his hosting of the ITA Midwest region tournament in the fall of 2020. He was one of the few who hosted a regional tournament in a safe environment. Coach is a RAC committee member and has hosted national events in the past. Coach promotes sportsmanship to his team and teaches proper education to his team on and off the court. His expectations of himself and his team are high.


ITA Assistant Coach of the Year
Daniel Rockhill | Concordia College, NY

Daniel Rockhill - ITA Assistant Coach of the Year (Women)

Coach Daniel Rockhill has been an integral part of Concordia College, New York tennis for the past 22 years. Rockhill began took on the role of the women’s assistant coach nine years ago and since has elevated the program. The Clippers finished their final season ranked No. 35 in the nation and No. 3 in the East Region. In addition to the team’s success, Rockhill helped coach Ebba Rosberg to No. 11 in the country and ITA All-American status.

Nika Alekseeva - ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award (Women)

Nika’s work ethic is unprecedented. Her level of maturity and her growth as a player as well as a person is impressive as she has accomplished much as a student-athlete.


ITA Rookie of the Year Award
Mae Canete | University of Central Oklahoma

Mae Canete - ITA Rookie of the Year (Women)

UCO’s Mae Canete had a stellar first year competing for the Bronchos. Canete finished the season ranked No. 5 nationally in singles and No. 10 in doubles. Those rankings were enough to earn her ITA Singles & Doubles All-American honors. Canete’s skill at No. 2 singles and doubles helped the Chos to the NCAA semifinals. Canete finished with an undefeated 22-0 record in singles and a 16-3 record in doubles.


ITA Most Improved Senior Award
Virginie Becht | Angelo State University

Virginie Becht - ITA Most Improved Senior Award (Women)

Virginie Becht was part of Angelo State’s first recruiting class in 2017 with the new program. She has served as a SAAC rep for all 4 years. As a freshman, she went 14-8 in singles and 16-8 in doubles. Sophomore she went 9-8 in singles and 16-5 in doubles with a torn ligament in her knee. 2020 she was 4-1 in singles and 10-0 in doubles. In her Senior year, she by far her best season at 16-3 in singles and 13-4 in doubles. She has been regionally ranked in doubles throughout her career. She has helped Angelo State to 2 conference titles 2019 & 2021.


ITA Senior Player of the Year
Berta Bonardi | University of West Florida

Berta Bernardi - ITA Senior Player of the Year

During her four years at West Florida, Berta Bonardi etched her name into the history books. The Argonaut senior was ranked as the No. 1 singles player in the country in three separate seasons. Bonardi won the ITA Cup Division II Singles title in back-to-back years. She is a four-time ITA All-American and a two-time Gulf South Conference Player of the Year.
