Qualifiers Earn Their Spot Into the 2022 ITA Women’s All-American Main Draw

After four days of play from the 2022 ITA Women’s All-American Championships, the Main Draw is now set for both the singles and doubles draw as eight qualifiers have clinched their spot into the singles draw and six teams have qualified for the doubles draw.

In singles, North Carolina and Texas A&M each had two players earn their spot into the main draw. Abigail Forbes and Anika Yarlagadda (North Carolina) will join teammates Fiona Crawley, Elizabeth Scotty, and Chloe Beck in the singles main draw, while Jayci Goldsmith and Mary Stoiana (Texas A&M) will join Carson Branstine in the main draw.

Vanderbilt’s Celia-Belle Mohr is the only player to advance all the way from pre-qualifying to the main draw this year. The sophomore has made quick work of most of her opponents, winning ten of her thirteen sets this tournament by at least a four game margin.

Doubles play saw six different schools earn a spot into the main draw, including two representatives from both the ACC and SEC.

After taking down one of the top seeds in qualifying in the first round, Nikita Vishwase and Anastasiya Komar (LSU) never slowed down, winning in dominant fashion in their final two matches to continue on in the tournament.

Both Iowa State and Florida placed two teams each in the qualifying doubles finals, however, none of the teams were able to advance as representatives from Virginia, Duke, Michigan, LSU, Fresno St, and South Carolina moved on.

Main draw action is set to begin at 9 am (EST) tomorrow from the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina. Follow along with the action through the Cracked Racquets CrossCourt Cast or the numerous PlaySight cameras from Cary Tennis Park.
