Jason Box | Swarthmore

Division II Men's ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year

Jason Box from Swarthmore College has been named the 2023 Wilson ITA Coach of the Year. Over this past season, Box led Swarthmore to its first conference championship in over 20 years. From this effort, Box and his staff was named Conference Coaching Staff of the Year for the Centennial Conference. Finishing with a 14-4 record on the year, Swarthmore took down Johns Hopkins twice this season who was ranked within the Top Ten of the ITA Team Rankings each time the teams faced off. Swarthmore finished unbeaten in Centennial Conference play and with a berth into the NCAA Tournament.


ITA Assistant Coach of the Year

Wade Heerboth | Case Western Reserve University

Division II Men's ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year

Wade Heerboth from Case Western Reserve University has been named the 2023 ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year. Heerboth has been serving as the volunteer assistant at Case Western Reserve for seven seasons and he truly has been doing all of his work for a genuine love of the sport and this program. This season, he has taken an extended role with on-court coaching during matches. At the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, he covered courts four thru six allowing Head Coach Todd Wojtkowski to focus on the remain three courts. With this strategy the Spartans took home their second straight ITA National Team Indoor Championship.


ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship

Koby Murata | Pacific University

Division II Men's ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership Award

Koby Murata from Pacific University has been named the 2023 ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award winner. Both on and off the court, Murata has taken great strides over this past year and has left a lasting impact on Pacific University. Finishing with a 34-26 singles record and 59-33 doubles record over his career, Murata was a team captain over the past two seasons and was named Second Team All-Conference in 2023 for his play. In the classroom, Murata holds a 3.86 GPA while he pursues a degree in Business Administration. He has been named the College of Business Outstanding Student in Finance Award winner, the College of Business Student of the Month, and the College of Business Outstanding Student-Manager of The Boxer Opportunity Fund Award Recipient.


ITA Rookie of the Year

Advik Mareedu | Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

Division II Men's ITA Rookie of the Year

Advik Mareedu from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps has been named the 2023 ITA Rookie of the Year. As a freshman, he won the Division III ITA West Regional Singles Championship and then advanced to the ITA Cup, where he won the National Championship and became the No. 1 ranked singles player in Division III. He is 30-6 overall at the No. 1 singles position, with four wins against ranked Division II opponents and a 22-4 record against Division III opponents. He has been the No. 1 ranked singles player in the West all season.


ITA Most Improved Senior

Brendan Jimenez | Skidmore College

Division II Men's ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership Award

Brendan Jimenez from Skidmore College has been named the 2023 ITA Most Improved Senior Award winner. Jimenez has built a reputation of being a selfless leader, tough, hard working, and always supportive of his teammates. Last year he played No. 4 for Skidmore and this year he stepped up to play No. 1 and helped lead his team to a national ranking after starting with only five players. Jimenez is ranked No. 1 within his region in singles and was No. 36 in the country after the Fall. He has significant wins over many top-ranked opponents this season, and holds a 17-9 record in singles and in 12-11 doubles record.


ITA Senior Player of the Year

James Hopper | Case Western Reserve University

Division II Men's ITA Senior Player of the Year

James Hopper from Case Western Reserve University has been named the 2023 ITA Senior Player of the Year. He finished the season as the No. 1 ranked singles player in the country as well as the No. 1 ranked doubles player in the country after winning another NCAA Doubles Championship this year in Lake Nona. Hopper is an eight-time ITA All-American and has earned First Team All-UAA Singles and Doubles honors, ITA National Team Indoors Most Outstanding Player honors, and is a two-time ITA Cup Doubles National Champion.
